Edjobster's access is read-only. It never sends mail from your mailbox, and reads only the labels you choose.
Before you start
You're a workspace admin. Only admins connect mailboxes, and everyone else sees the mailboxes without the connect buttons.
You can sign in to the Google account whose inbox you want to connect.
Applications arrive in, or can be filtered into, a Gmail label. Edjobster reads only the labels you pick, not your whole inbox.
The mailbox isn't already connected to another workspace (a mailbox connects to one workspace at a time).
Setup steps
1
Open the Email connector
In the left menu, under Workspace settings, open Connectors and choose the Email tile.
2
Click Connect Gmail
In the Gmail mailboxes card, click Connect Gmail (it reads Add another mailbox once one is connected). You'll be taken to Google's sign-in.
3
Approve read-only mail access
Sign in and approve the read-only mail permission Google asks for. That permission is what lets Edjobster read the labels you choose next, nothing more.
4
Pick the labels to watch
Back in Edjobster, Pick labels to watch opens on its own. Tick the label where your applications arrive (or several, up to 25), then click Use this label (it reads Use these N labels when several are ticked). Close it without picking and the mailbox waits as Pending until you click Select labels.
Not sure which label? In Gmail, create a filter that moves applications to a label like Applications, then point Edjobster at that.
Verify it worked
The Gmail mailboxes card lists your mailbox as Connected with the labels you chose. Edjobster watches for new messages from now on, so earlier mail stays where it is. New applications appear in Inbox, and Sync inbox there checks for new mail right away.
Troubleshooting
Connected, but nothing is coming in.
Edjobster only reads the labels you picked. Confirm applications actually land there, as a Gmail filter may be moving them elsewhere. Click Change labels on the mailbox to pick others, or Sync inbox on the Inbox page to check now.
“That mailbox is already connected to another workspace.”
A mailbox connects to one workspace at a time. Disconnect it there first.
It synced for a while, then stopped.
Google's access can expire. The mailbox shows Error and “Gmail access has expired. Reconnect the mailbox.” Click Connect Gmail (or Add another mailbox) and sign in with the same account. The mailbox goes back to Connected with the labels it had.
The connection was rejected.
If the read-mail permission wasn't approved during sign-in, Edjobster can't read your labels and rejects the connection. Connect again and approve it.
