Edjobster's access is read-only. It only reads the folders you choose and never sends mail.
Before you start
You're a workspace admin. Only admins connect mailboxes.
IMAP access is enabled on the mailbox.
The server settings: host and port (almost always 993 with TLS), and the mailbox's email address and password.
An app password if the account has two-factor authentication on. Most providers require one for IMAP.
Setup steps
1
Open Connect IMAP
In the left menu, under Workspace settings, open Connectors, choose the Email tile and, in the IMAP mailboxes card, click Connect IMAP (it reads Add another mailbox once one is connected). The steps below are one form, Connect an IMAP mailbox.
2
Enter the server settings
Fill in the mailbox's Email address, the IMAP host (e.g. imap.gmail.com) and Port993. Leave Username blank to sign in with the email address. Keep Use TLS, at the bottom of the form, ticked.
Common hosts: Gmail imap.gmail.com, Outlook / Microsoft 365 outlook.office365.com, Zoho imap.zoho.com (or .eu / .in for those regions), FastMail imap.fastmail.com. All use port 993 with TLS.
3
Enter the password
Enter the mailbox password, or an app password if two-factor authentication is on, in Password / app password. Create app passwords in your email provider's security settings.
4
Enter the folder and connect
Type the Full folder path Edjobster should watch, such as INBOX.Applications. A folder inside another needs its whole path, not just the name your mail client shows. Watching all of INBOX brings in every email, so point it at a folder your applications are filed into. Then click Connect: Edjobster tests the connection first, so you find out at once if a setting is wrong.
Verify it worked
The mailbox shows in the IMAP mailboxes card, which checks it every 2 minutes. Emails already in the folder don't sync, so applications that arrive after setup flow in. Sync now checks for new email at once, and afterwards offers to Import the older ones from the last 90 days, unscreened. Test checks the connection, and Folders adds or changes the folders it watches.
Troubleshooting
“Couldn't reach that server.”
The host or port couldn't be reached. Check the hostname spelling and that the port is 993, and that no firewall is blocking it.
“Your mail server rejected the sign-in” or “Login was rejected.”
Almost always the wrong password, or the account needs an app password (create one in your provider's security settings). If your organisation has disabled basic IMAP access entirely, connect with the Outlook option instead.
“The server has no folder at that path.”
The path didn't match. Nested folders need their full path (e.g. INBOX.Applications). When the server has similar folders, the form lists them: click one to use it.
